Welcome! I am Leila.
Mother of Ayla and Kian.
Daughter of Fara, Granddaughter of Geraldine and Naji, Great-granddaughter of Ezella, Florene, Azizeh and Kadijah.
My mother’s lineages are Irish, Scottish, and English. My father’s lineage is Azeri Iranian.
Having grown up deeply steeped in the worlds of both of my families, I am the living embodiment of my cultures. This offers me a natural openness, inclusion, and sensitivity to other cultural ways, and a passionate curiosity to explore how our overculture might evolve to become more compassionate, rich, and rooted. It’s also shaped within me a deep devotion to remember our ancestral roots and rhythms. I gratefully reside on the ancestral lands of the Ohlone people, in the San Francisco Bay Area, with my husband and two children.
I am a Matrescence Guide, Prenatal & Postnatal Educator, and Postpartum Care Provider.
My work weaves together many years of advocacy and in-depth training around these three distinct spiritual & physiological portals:
Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Early Motherhood.
I guide women through these portals to remember their innate, ancestral wisdom, intuition and courage.
Leila's work weaves together many years of advocacy and in-depth training around these the distinct spiritual & physiological phases that are
pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood.
Her work is uniquely expressed and woven from many threads including her own personal life experience, her natural gifts and abilities, her passion and activism, and her hunger for learning.
A life-long student, Leila is continually advancing her education and expertise by working with mentors, continuing training, exploring new topics, and widening her areas of study.
Becoming and being a mother has been the catalyst and ongoing initiation into reclaiming parts of myself I had long lost, healing wounds from my life and lineages, learning to mother myself so that I can create and nurturing life for my children, and embracing work that fulfills a deep sense of purpose and meaning in my life.
Pregnancy and motherhood have woven a tapestry of wise women and ancestral wisdom into my life, and I believe that this is key to the kind of revolutionary motherhood that will shape our world in beautiful ways.
I believe that this time in our lives can be the most powerful initiation into becoming the mothers our children and our world need, and that our motherhood is deeply interwoven with our power and our purpose.
My work deeply supports women who…..
Feel that our conventional ways of approaching pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood, are profoundly patriarchal, and steeped in fear, disconnection, domination, and isolation.
Want to experience becoming & being mothers as sacred, positive, empowering, and meaningful (not just something to “survive” or “get through”).
Desire to be in spaces that are deeply rooted and deeply spiritual, while still being culturally and socially progressive and aware, with other women who desire the same.
Long for deeper and more real conversations about navigating womanhood and motherhood in these times, without bypassing the hard parts or suppressing the beautiful parts.
Desire to be deeply seen, heard, and honored, so that we can strengthen our ability to see, hear, and honor ourselves.
Are devoted to being a voice for ourselves, our children, and our world, and are willing to do the sacred work of cultivating the courage to do so.
Long to become more soft as we become more strong.
